The End of My Journey

Image
Hello all! I cannot believe that we have come to an end. This is my final blog post and it has been a wild ride. It is interesting to see where my journey has taken me. At the beginning, I had one idea and then as I continued to work on my Genius Hour project, things took a turn. My initial idea of making a website and then that idea failing is definitely the epitome of living in Beta. For me, I needed feedback and I needed to fail in order for me to better understand what I was working towards. These moments that I have had with technology this semester have pushed me to be flexible and experiment in different ways.  One important concept that I have learned is that I may not know the answer to everything but this should not stop me from trying it out. I always want to succeed, however in order to do this I need to fail. I remember starting my placement and feeling defeated when a lesson did not work out. Howe...

Ninth Blog Post- Final Product

Image
Welcome back for my final blog everyone!! This one is going to be a brief final post about what I am going to be using as my final product.  Since I will not be creating an actual website anymore. I have decided to make a slideshow consisting of how one would create a community website. The slides will consist of the processes and the aspects of a website that are important to focus on and design. At the beginning I thought that creating a website would be easy and would not be too difficult. However, after actually going through the process, I realized that there is a lot to take into account. Therefore, the slides will go through these nitty gritty details.  I did not only want to include the process of creating a creating a community website. I also wanted to include the features that I wanted in my own personal website for PE teachers. So included in my slideshow, you will be able to see what I would've wanted for...

Seventh Blog Post

Hello! Welcome back everyone... thank you for reading yet another one of my blogs AND thanks for coming along for the rollercoaster ride of changing gears.  One thing that I want to share with you all is the importance of being okay with taking a step back and reevaluating your work. I made a lot of progress the past weeks however, I did start to get frustrated with making the website and felt like I was hitting a dead end. So... when I heard that it was okay to just look into the process of making one, I felt very at ease and relieved. ANY WHO this week I looked at member accounts and how to create those and what they entail. A member's area is so visitors can sign up and access member pages and services. Therefore, if you wanted to be a part of a private group and share lesson plans there, you would sign into an account. This is one of the websites I looked at that best detailed the wix website: https://support.wix.com/en/article/add...

Sixth Blog Post- A change-up

Image
Hello all.  A Change-Up This blog post is going to be a little different. I was glad to hear from Dave, that a website was going to be difficult to create and was very ambitious. After all of my prior research and working on my website, I thought the EXACT SAME THING. It definitely was getting super difficult for me and I was getting frustrated. SO I have decided to take a step back and reevaluate what I want to do for my genius hour.  The change: Instead of actually creating a website, I will now just research and state things that go into creating one. I will also go into what I would want in my website.  Starting Over Since I will kind of be starting over, I am going to restate some aspects that goes into creating one.  1. First, you have to figure out what kind of website you want to create. Here are 10 popular types of websites:  https://www.wix.com/blog/2020/12/types-of-websites/  However, I am going...

My Fourth Blog Post- Genius Hour Research

For this weeks blog research, I spend majority of thy time looking up more videos on making websites as I wanted to know what else I could add to my community online. I did not touch my website this week as I just wanted to look at more options that I had.  Some of the videos I looked at were: 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hshYJzuOlN4&list=RDCMUCx96GiJ3qYw2sHccPp5dY_g&index=13  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB5NXSW09V8&list=RDCMUCx96GiJ3qYw2sHccPp5dY_g&index=18  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVMbxzZWKDs&list=RDCMUCx96GiJ3qYw2sHccPp5dY_g&index=23 4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0nYSPoElmk&list=RDCMUCx96GiJ3qYw2sHccPp5dY_g&index=29 I learned more about the mobile app of wix and creating websites and what it offers. I think if I want to create a mobile friendly website I might come into some problems and I am not sure whether I will have t...
