One hour of research and this is what I found...

Doing my genius hour research really put my project into perspective this week. I learned that creating a website and creating a project is a more difficult than I thought. I already struggle with technology and I realized that there are many steps to creating a website. I first looked up other websites that have similar ideas and concepts to mine. This way I am able to figure out what I like and what I don't like. I found a website titled "The Best Social Networks for Teachers To Grow Their PLNs and here I found websites that teachers are able to share their resources to teachers all around the world. I found some websites that provide educators webinars, certificates and professional learning. However, when I kept diving deep into my project, I wanted to focus on something more personal. This includes more of a private group, where you have to allow people to join. In my PE class we often talk about sharing our resources and maybe creating a platform where just us can share our experiences and activities.
Next, I searched up how to actually design and create a website. I found this YouTube creater named CharliMarieTV : Designing a website - Episode 1: Planning & site map! who has multiple episodes, first starting with planning and site map. She also has a video on Blog design wireframe which I also enjoyed watching and I thing that it might be something I am interested in adding to my website. I learned that creating different links and aspects like blog, or instagram page to a website has all different challenges and require different steps to follow. Creating a successful platform that is catered to your wants is very tedious and time consuming. I bumped into some trouble when fine tuning what I actually wanted on my website because honestly I am still not 100% sure and before next genius hour this is definitely what I will be doing!! I need to do some preplanning and finding out the exact tabs or aspects that I want on my platform. Many of the questions I had were how to actually create a website or platform for what I wanted, and thankfully there are many YouTube videos that visually help me with this.
From here, I will continue to look at other websites and research what I like and do not like about it. I will also plan out what I may want my platform to look like as well.
